Firefighter Colin Hanley, 25, died March 1, 1968, while fighting a blaze that ended up destroying a manufacturing company. He inhaled highly toxic gas, phosgene, which was produced by the burning celluloid in the factory. Phosgene is the gas used in chemical warfare. He had only been with the Clark County Fire Department for only a year and a half before his passing. He was survived by his wife, Judy, and a daughter.
