Lawrence Jacobsen served more than 37 years in the Legislature as both an assemblyman and senator. He was directly responsible or played a key role in the introduction and passage of numerous pieces of legislation of benefit to the volunteer and career firefighters of the Nevada fire service and overall fire protection of the state throughout the years. He was involved in multiple statewide and national committees, helped to preserve and document Nevada fire heritage, and was an active member of Rotary International for more than 40 years.
