Richard Washington Jr.

Richard Washington Jr., 49, suffered a heart attack on August 8, 2006, while on duty at Fire Station 16 on Nellis Boulevard near Charleston Boulevard. Paramedics tried to treat him at the scene, and he was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Richard was born February 10, 1957, in Walla Walla, Washington, and lived in Las Vegas for 22 years. Washington had been on the Clark County Fire Department for 17 years. Richard loved sports, music, fine cigars, and most of all his family and fire department brothers and sisters. He was survived by mother, Belle Washington; his wife, Mary Washington; sons, David and Eric; a daughter, Charlotte; two brothers, James and Charles; and two sisters, Sharon and Gloria.
