Theodore Schuler of Tucson, Arizona, a pilot with the Bureau of Land Management, was killed on October 11, 1962, along with co-pilot William L. Desilet, when their air bomber crashed while attempting to drop bentonite on a brush fire 24 miles outside of Fallon, Nevada. The plane was a converted World War II bomber and apparently crashed at full throttle.
