IAFF Local 4227, representing the Storey County Professional Fire Fighters, recently presented the organization’s annual scholarship award to high school seniors, Kori Johnson and Timothy Quinlan. Both students were recognized for their achievements and were awarded $500 each for their future academic endeavors.
“The Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada congratulate the winners of this year’s Local 4227 scholarship,” said Todd Ingalsbee, president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada. “As fire fighters, we enjoy supporting our community and actively engaging with those we serve. We wish Kori and Timothy the best as they begin their collegiate careers.”
“It is an honor to present this year’s scholarship to Kori and Timothy,” said Victor Yohey, president of the Storey County Professional Fire Fighters. “The Storey County Professional Fire Fighters have awarded this scholarship for more than ten years, recognizing many incredible students. We are proud to celebrate the achievements of the youth in our community and provide financial aid to assist them in their continued education.”
An award presentation was held in June 2020 for the scholarship recipients. Johnson will be attending Lassen Community College in Susanville, California in the fall to pursue a degree in accounting. Quinlan plans to complete the welding program at Western Nevada College in Carson City, Nevada.
